Great Pyrenees Growth Chart
Important note: Chico & Nando were both kibble fed until they got with us, Chico got adult kibble at the breeder and Nando got puppy kibble. When they arrived home we switched them to a raw meat diet. The average line for 0-8 weeks is based on the weights of 32 puppies after 8 weeks the average line moves into the average weights given by the NVLPH. These are averages for puppies/dogs from 3 months till 2 and a half years in age. I think the average given by the NVLPH is for kibble fed pups.
If you own a giant breed puppy, I would advise to think about feeding raw meat. It's been proven to be better for the bones and that they develop a lot less bone problems because of this diet. The internet is a good source of information about this subject, of course there's also a lot of books.
We've been feeding raw for a large amount of years now and had Dachshunds since the 80s, they are prone to back problems, but we haven't experienced it ourselves with the Dachshunds we raised from puppy. (We did have a rescue that came to us with back problems, after manual therapy she never had it again. Read more about her here.)
